Management Committee

CliveClive Chapman

I have been a member of PIP’s Management Committee since 2011 and currently hold the post of Deputy Chair. However, I first became involved with PIP 7 years ago when they supported me to move away from the family home to live independently. I had very little experience of independent living and PIP worked alongside me to ensure that my needs were met and that I was supported in my new life on a regular basis.

I have always been totally enthusiastic about and committed to helping others in society who are less fortunate than myself and who are marginalized and isolated. To this end, I have recently been awarded a Level 2 B.Tec Health and Social Care Diploma which will be my passport to work in the care sector. I have just started work with the NHS providing secondary care which involves supporting elders who are confined to bed in a regional hospital. My other educational attainments have included an award in English Functional Skills and I have just started language courses in French and German.

I enjoy socializing with friends and my pastimes include travel – where I love to explore both cities and the countryside. I belong to a Zumba class and I have recently completed a health and diet course where I lost 1.5 stones!

I have been a member of PIP’s Management Committee since 2002 and Chair since 2008. I started out in travel and tourism and then moved to run a vegetarian restaurant for many years.  After this I moved in to further education becoming a lecturer at Bourneville College in Birmingham and then took up a post as a job coach with Rehab UK – a charity working with people who had acquired brain injuries.

I am now recently retired and love to travel throughout the world at every opportunity. My hobbies are theatre, music and spending time with family and friends.

I joined PIP in 2010 and have been the Treasurer for two years. I have a background in the voluntary sector having worked for the Terence Higgins Trust for a number of years.  I am currently the Midlands Regional Manager and I am involved in all matters to do with staff and volunteers as well as having responsibility for finance and strategic planning.

My passions are music and literature and a good deal of my time is taken up with being active in the community through a range of ventures.

I have been a member of the PIP’s Management Committee since 2010. I first became involved through having been supported by them in several areas of my life.  I am also a member of both of their Service User Groups where we talk about the services that PIP provides and the training they offer.  I am particularly keen on training because I have taken several courses and feel that I have been able to contribute to the way PIP teaches these to other people.

I spend a lot of my time doing voluntary work in charity shops and in residential care for the elderly. I also go to college and do quite a few courses which I enjoy a lot.

I have been a member of PIP’s Management Committee since 2013. My background has been in the field of Mental Health and I have worked at Kinmos Day Centre in Kings Heath, Birmingham for the past ten years.  I am currently the Deputy Manager and have skills and experience in all areas of running a voluntary sector organization. I hope to contribute to PIP’s growing work in the field of mental health advocacy.

Outside of work my interests are travel, music and literature.
