Early Intervention Support

What is the service?
This service is funded by The Big Lottery Fund and provides direct family support to parents with a learning disability/difficulty. The project worker has extensive experience of working with vulnerable disabled parents and offers practical advice and support in the family home to help parents improve their parenting skills and reduce the risk to the children in their care. The support package is adapted to the specific needs of each family.

Who is eligible?
Any parent with a learning disability/difficulty living in Birmingham. The parent would need to have their child(ren) in their care and require support with their parenting.

Do we assess?
No. We are not assessors and we do not offer recommendations. We offer intensive family support and will give feedback at statutory meetings on the work completed and progress made. We will consider the concerns of all professionals involved to aid us in offering the appropriate support.

How to refer?
A referral can be made by any involved professional, a family member or self-referral. Please call on 0121 440 4685 or email helen@peopleinpartnership.org.
